1) A poorly designed web site
Nothing says "amateur" like a poorly designed web site. If your web site looks like it was created by an eleven year old with Microsoft FrontPage, you are going to have an extremely hard time convincing people to hire you. Even though you may be an SEO and not a web designer, people still expect your web site to have a professional appearance. Showing your potential clients your unattractive web site is like showing up to a job interview in shorts and a t-shirt. If you don't have an eye for web design, do yourself a favor and hire a web designer to create a professional looking web site for your company.
2) Ranking poorly for your company's name
If you really want to ensure that no one hires you for your search engine optimization services, make sure that your company web site ranks poorly in Google for its own name. Better yet, make sure it doesn't even get indexed! If you cannot even get your company's web site to rank well for its own name, chances are search engine optimization is not the field for you. You don't have to rank on the first page of Google for search engine optimization or search engine marketing (although it is very useful if you do), but at least rank number one for your company's name.
3) Spamming
Unless you are David Naylor, spamming is not going to attract any potential clients. Whether you are trying to spam your company to the front page of Digg or just posting tons of useless threads on forums to build up your back links, spamming is frowned upon by most of the general population.
4) Bad spelling and grammar
This may seem like a minor detail, but bad spelling and grammar can have the same effect as a poorly designed web site. Whether its ten typos on your home page or poorly written forum posts, bad spelling and grammar makes you and your company look much less professional. This is something that can easily be avoided by proofreading what you type before you post or submit it. If you really have a hard time putting together coherent sentences, invest in a copy of The Elements of Style.
5) Taking on jobs that you can't handle
If you take on a client and promise them that their web site will rank on the first page of Google for Viagra, chances are that relationship is going to end badly. It is extremely important to not only be realistic with your clients about their expectations, but also not to ever take on a job that you know you won't be able to accomplish. Taking someone's money and not delivering results is a guaranteed way to drag your company's name and reputation through the mud!

I'm also not a guy–but if I may contribute my opinion–I do have 4 older brothers and am somewhat of a Tom Boy so I see men in friend setting a LOT…and hear what they talk about:
…I think a man would lose respect for a girl who was a raging drunk-especially in public…and slurring…and loose–sleeping around with every Tom, Dick & Harry.
Men don't seem to like a LOT of makeup on a woman…or at least put on so it LOOKS like a lot.
They seem to lose respect for a woman if he sees her being a bad mother–putting partying and sex before being a good Mother…out boozing while kid at home, being a skanky one in front of kids,,inviting every night a different man into her home for sex while child is there…smoking in front of kids…yelling a lot…(maybe this reminds man of bad Mother of his own or who he'd not want as his own mother or one for his fiture kids)
Lose respect for her if she is the sort to walk and spit on the sidewalk and cuss and be obnoxious and loud–domineering and in your face type of girl….drunk driving…if she's rude to waiters and waitresses in restaurants or to taxi drivers or others who she falsely sees as her subordinates..
Guys lose respect for a woman who is not thankful and willing to share work…or to share gifts to him as well…ungiving women are a tiurn off if all they do is take take take…and expect from the man without returning giving…all one sided=not good way to gain respect.
Guys also hate 2 faced gossips and back stabbing….so do I for that matter…so I guess the best way not to p1ss off a guy is to be a good person who is loyal and respectful of him, herself and others.

Putting herself out there in a sexual way when i now that she doesn't do anything like, she just did it for attention and to get back at me.
And another girl told me that over break she had broke her straight edge and drank and had even popped a pill, and then threw it back on me that why should i care when i do it.
She also worries about me and will never let me do anything for her because she doesn't want to accept gifts and things from me. Well, i guess modesty isn't bad, but it is hella annoying.

I am not a guy, but I have five brothers (sucks being the only girl). From what i have learned, guys lose respect for girls when they try to impress them by wearing loads of make-up or crowding their personal space all the time. Most of the time, guys like to hang out with girls because they aren't that girly and they can relate with them kinda and just be friends, but when they try to get your attention and start feeling weird around you, then things go wrong and you can't hang with them anymore. correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my understanding of guys, from what i've learned.

Being a slut, that's obvious. But one that's gotten me is when she starts fights with other girls or even if she's not the one who started it, insists on fighting, especially if the other girl her friend who really needs her help rather than a fight. I guess that sounds pretty weird, but I knew a girl whose best friend was pretty desperate, and they got in a fight over a guy, the more popular, centered girl should have been the bigger person and tried to avoid confrontation to help her friend, but all she did was feed the fire.
